I avoid the news like I avoid the plague

Whatever I need to know, 

My Facebook friends will be commenting on. 

But one article I read said that 

Trump is like a chipmunk 

With his head stuck in a Mountain Dew can. 

That remark saved my sanity. 

The article went on to say that California 

Wants to be a Nation State. 

If they joined with Oregon and Washington,

They would control 40% of the GDP. 

And here I am in Texas. 

Not quite the South. 

Not quite the Southwest. 

Just a bunch of staunch, fake

Aging conservatives 

Who have forgotten what they stand for. 

Or once stood for. 

I’m not upset about the vacation. 

I’m upset that this whole thing

Was mismanaged from the start.
