fire and ice
(killing me softly)

Some say the world will end in fire.
Some say in ice.

From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great,
 And would suffice.

  5. Very powerful, and true. And disturbing. And thought provoking.
And sad. I wish more people, all people, could see how "life and death" this really is... and not trivialize it or offer trite solutions.

You get it, and I appreciate this post.

The Wiki link was a great read. And like the rings of Hell you know how to
make a point. I just love where you take me.

  7. So true.

Sometimes I just want to grab people by the shoulders and shake them and say "it doesn't have to be like this!" but, I am one to talk...

  9. Not only do friends not try to stop the fork and spoon shovel, they encourage get togethers centered around food and drink. Really tough having friends and being social and trying to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight.

And yes Anne, Dante's Prayer. I missed that one earlier. It's a complete

  11. Step away from the spoon and plate....no one will get hurt. Let's end this peacefully. :) Great post, Anne.

  12. Guess they don't try to stop you because they can't. We are all responsible for what we do...darn it, why can't someone do it for me? If it's going to be, it's up to me. Yeah, yeah. Maybe a quick wiring of the jaw shut would work better - lol.
