perfection continues

It’s snowing here.
And in Dallas, Texas,
And that usually means ice.
Everything is closed.
I stayed in the loft at work.

We seldom get the pretty snow flakes.
Just an icy mess of sleet
4 inches thick. Car doors frozen shut.
It rains and then freezes overnight.

Went to the store before the ice hit.
Many steps. All for naught.

BTW, Siri is lying. I went up
and down stairs 3 times.

Many empty shelves.
Skeletonized.

Literally no produce,
No dairy, no meat, no bread.

I went for salad dressing.
Literally, figuratively, and actually
One single bottle was on the shelf.
One.

No carts.
No phone no lights no motor car.
Not a single luxury.

We’ll see if the grid holds up.
This is just an ice storm.
Not a polar vortex, like last year.

No bread for the win.

I do much much much better
With absolutely not even one bite.
Gluten is unnecessary and disruptive.
One bite and I have heartburn for hours.

Avocado with lime.

Salad with Spicy Ranch.
The family I take care of
Is low fat, high carb,
And trusts the establishment.
Fat Free Dressing and Canola Oils.
Every week I bring 1000 Island
And every week, it gets eaten.
Hence the trip to the store. LOL.

This family has a loft
with a private bathroom and shower.
It’s hard to get up and down from the floor.
But it’s ok.

No Covefe.
Just Tea. But it’s Irish Breakfast Tea.
So it’s pretty sturdy.

This family makes food
That could please royalty.

They’re very welcoming to guests.
It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
None of my American Western friends
Or family have ever been half as gracious
To me as a guest.
[This is a picture from Pinterest.
Obviously I can’t put their pictures up.]

Snow Days right now.
It’s good to be prepared!
The roads in Texas are built for heat.
So during ice storms, they close.

I told the night nurse she
should get ready to stay,
but she just shrugged.

Guess who is snowed in
And sleeping in her scrubs!!!
Not me! Hahahaha!

02 February 2022

perfect year

OMG a no-roll-over night.
I worked all day yesterday
Getting ready for the snowstorm.

Did 1000+ steps after dinner
Walking to and fro -
Putting my laundry up
And cleaning my room.

Half a rib eye.

That’s me.
Well- today that’s me.

I have been audited by the IRS
14 of the past 15 years.
So I spent an hour in the phone with them
And I hired a professional tax repair service.
Now- especially with COVID.

I nailed it!
My room is 99%.
I didn’t put beeswax on the floor.
It’s ready for company.

The key to increasing HRV
Is deep breathing.
Don’t know why.
It just is.

I can’t keep bouncing around
With these high numbers.
I use any excuse in the book
And it’s just insane.
13 years of blogging.
And I make excuses.
I should be impeccable.
Instead I’m dirty and lazy.
Dirty and Lazy Keto, that is.

So many bloggers fail and drop out.
I’m observing. Not judging.
Cuz that’s also me.
Even some of them die.
They can’t overcome their bad habits.

Are they getting better at predicting?
Is weather getting crazier?

Temp dropped 10 ° already.

9. This blog is my journal
5. Not sure about this.
But the logic is wild!
15 minutes on the pot
Is an extra hour break every week.
Paid. By your butt.

All told, I’m getting better
At getting better.
No Alibi
It only took till age 60.

3. I like to buy my morning coffee.
Don’t know why. No grounds to clean.
And it smells sooooo good!

01 February 2022

perfect month

Slept rough.
I felt like I didn’t sleep at all.

Walked. Went to the lake and walked.

Yesterday’s BBQ

Burnt Ends.
Aka Pork Belly

The server thought we were going to split
A meal. Hahahaha! No way!

“My” beautiful lake

Back in the day- kids just rode bikes
And took the bus (for a dime)
And went where we felt like going.

I grew up around White Rock Lake.
And that’s my fave place to be.
I love everything about it.

I love my city!
I wasn’t born in Dallas -
But I got here as soon as I could!

Love love love the
Dallas Arboretum and
Little Forest Hills

I once caught a duck at the lake
And said it followed me home.
(I tied it up - lol)
I was like 6 years old.

My piano teacher was pissed!
I had to take the darn thing back.
Tsk tsk!

I have only fond memories
Of my days at Lake Highlands
And White Rock Lake.

Parochial School at St Johns.
Mass every day, with us wearing
Out little plaid dresses.

My mom said it was cheaper than day care.
So off I went at age 5 - to 1st grade.

A car drove through this Great Clips
And killed the stylist.

That’s me now with wine.
Can’t stand the very thought of it.

Leftover BBQ Bowl.

Tomorrow’s Dinner
It’s splurge night!

Today’s Salad.

100%  on plan.
Feels good!
