  5. The gorgeous flower photos remind me of...

"I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud"

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
    A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
    They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
    In such a jocund company:
    I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils.

  8. I'm having flashbacks of 3rd grade gym, the Presidential Fitness Test... couldn't climb the rope, couldn't do a chin-up. Nope, not a push-up either. No upper-body strength. Kick-ball, dodge-ball, bike-riding, yep, yep, yep!

  9. Your photography is absolutely amazing. Love your comments along the way, too.

Now I'm hungry for a poached egg!

  10. Jo, SheZug - poached eggs are all that!

DHG - yep, yep, yep ditto-
Now the challenge is that I'm turning into a "gym rat."
It keeps me off the streets (of my mind.)
No longer cruising for another proverbial bruisin'....

    Anonymous - a beautiful poem.
Starts with "loneliness"... ends with "the bliss of solitude."
Reminds me of my last trip to LA.
    Flowers everywhere.

Unknown Mami - aren't you from "The Golden State"?
And aren't you also from California?
    Love me some California.
In a few short weeks I have a date with a pelican!
Let's see if he recognizes me....

  15. Cinner - sorry to leave you out of the loop!
When I was in California a year ago,
a pelican went bird-crazy all over me.
Just then, someone took a picture.
It was the first time I saw myself as being so heavy.
    I felt sick and ashamed.
    It's the ultimate "before" picture!
