pan handle

It was foggy and cold when I left Amarillo

This path to home is on a US Highway..... not the interstate

Lots of old buildings in very small towns

Memphis, Tx..... you'll also see names like Jolly,
Canadians, Goodnight, Happy, and Gun Barrel City

I love old buildings that are not in use....

It's like a passion of mine-

This town was so small, the hardware store
was also the drug store and grocery store!

Wow - wonderful eye candy!
And a long drive home - to the Big City

Made tolerable by singing and lip sinking!

Glad you are all here with me!
Thanks for reading!

  1. Great photos, Anne. I'm been reading a book and now I know why you are so concerned with visceral fat. The book I'm reading explains in detail why it is so dangerous. I'm getting ready to do low carb. I will be checking in with you for tips. Travel safely!

  5. LOVE the video. You look so happy. :)

That place is almost a ghost town. It's a little sad. I always try to imagine who used to live in those lonely houses. Why is it empty now? What became of the families? Was it a happy home? Things like that.

  10. Love your sharing with your camera. There are so many little "ghost" towns in this country now. There's nothing there any more to keep people around. The family farms and the railroad used to support them, but life has changed. It's not hard to imagine what it used to be like, however. Every abandoned building and home has a story to tell.

  13. The photos are terrific as usual, but they were so sad to me. Like...all these places with histories and former residents whose stories we don't know...but now the buildings are untended. :(

I'm sorry I couldn't load the video. Wouldn't play for me. Bummer!

So, can you travel to the Pacific Northwest next time? I'd like to see the Low Carb Wonder's Pics of the great forests and mountains there. Hint, hint.

  14. The sight of old abandoned buildings make me feel kinda sad. I do like old signs like that Red's sign you photographed. Sometimes the business is long gone but the sign still stands.

  15. I love little towns with flavor -- no chains and the like. We have towns smaller than that out this way.

  16. LOVE THE TRAIN PIC! ONE DAY I'D LOVE TO GO AROUND TAKING PICTURES OF ALL THE DIFFERENT BIG RED BARNS...THE OLD ONES, ALMOST FALLING APART ONES. LOVE THEM. THEY DRAW ME. DON'T KNOW WHY...
