dry run

It is strongly recommended
that you put your tent together
before you need it in the wilderness!

A little slack cuz I can't tighten up the .... well, slack!

Lots of room inside for a cot - but I'd rather sleep on the floor...
on a couple of inches of memory foam, that is!

A propane stove for Cow Girl Coffee

"Hey cool - a tent!"
Suddenly, when a near-by Eagle Scout meeting (?)
was over, I was flooded with Wednesday Night- Wanna Be's!

These guys were more excited than I was about it!
They were going to show me how it's done!
They just converged on the scene - then were gone!

A new hoodie  - Texas style
and on sale!

These knots in the pants are about to be obsolete!
Time for new ones?
I knew that fancy scarf would come in handy!
Makes a great seat cover!
I detailed the truck myself - getting ready for the trip.

Very pretty clouds yesterday!
Wish you were here -
just to see them!
.....................................
Still waiting for ONE good reason
to not leave early!
Anyone? Anyone?

Hope your day is wonderful!

  4. Reminds me of a camping trip with borrowed tent, no directions on how to put it up, didn't even know what it was supposed to look like when together, after dark in a rainforest, and it was raining. So funny!

  5. beautiful clouds!
I quite like the dry run idea...maybe I could go camping at home, no spiders and no camping toilet...I could manage that!
You're so much braver ...this just being a dry run!
    Enjoy

  6. You will have such a great time. It's always hard getting ready and really leaving but once that door is closed you're on your way to the happiest vacation ever. I am on my way to getting ready for our BWCA trip (in August, so far away). Just signed up for my first of the year 5K and am thinking about a bike tour of 30 miles. Scary but time to put my big girl panties on and do stuff for me. Like you Anne. My inspiration!!
Take care and have a blessed afternoon.

  11. What a cute little tent! Looks like the "pop-up" kind. I laughed at what you said, that it's good to set it up before you get into the wilderness.

Because it reminded me of the Big Trip we went on when I was a kid... my Mom and us three kids, ages 7, 8, and 9. And it was our first tent, the old canvas and aluminum poles kind. And we waited to "learn" to set it up after dark the first night. AND we did NOT know how to light the Coleman lantern. It is still a funny "3 Stooges" kind of memory.

    Thanks for the smile. :-)

  12. Way to rock the hoodie!

One reason not to leave early: your book is on its way. (But, that's not a good reason.)

  16. Just downloaded the entire Beatles anthology!
My treat to myself for giving up Monsters.....
.....mostly! At least it's not a $10 a day habit anymore, eh?

  17. Wow-- the clouds there look just like the clouds did here yesterday !?!? They were gorgeous.

A group of Scouts showing up is a hoot. I'd love to hear them tell the story of the lady with the tent ;-)

I can't wait to see you and catch up in person!!! Safe travels. xoxo jj
