valentines day 2011

I heart blogging

I heart U!

From last years blog "I Candy"

I went back to work, half a day.
The night nurse just came back, too -
from 10 days off. And another guy was
off for 2 weeks. What ever this is, it's an unreported
epidemic. Some variant of H1N1.....
But aren't they all?

Someone said it might be H5N1....
But only because they give the vaccine for that now,
at the local grocery store pharmacy!

My bronchitis phase is gone, but I still haven't walked,
or worked out.  Just too wiped out. Up till yesterday,
I was sleeping 18 - 20 hours a day! Some non-medical
people are getting this flu for 4 weeks or more.

And the Protein Sparing Modified Fast
is going well.... look! I even added this!

So -  hows about a nice cuppa broth?

Cayenne Pepper, Onion, Garlic, and Chives +
Chicken and Beef Soup Base +
Tamari, Fish Sauce, Rice Vinegar, and Sesame Oil =

Add to a pan of water to make the broth base.
Takes just a few minutes to whip it together.

I added chicken and an egg for protein.

Drop the raw, scrambled egg (or egg beaters)
into the broth over a spoon to diffuse it better.

Right before serving, I added some parmesan cheese.

I thought I would cry - it was that good.
My neighbor said it was "good enough
to snatch a person bald-headed."

I call it Two Minute Soup
Because it takes two minutes to make.
And it will be gone in two minutes!

Hope your day is going Lovingly!
Any big plans?

  3. I'm glad you only went back for half a day, to start. Sounds like quite a tough bug.

And oh boy... right now I have chicken bones perking away in my crockpot. Tomorrow, as soon as I strain them out, I'm gonna try your 2 Minute Soup. Never thought to add an egg like that. Sort of like Chinese Egg Drop soup... or whatever it's called. :-D

  5. Two Minute Soup to the rescue. Too bad it wasn't a Two Minute Bug. Good call on finishing it off with parmesan cheese, soup & cheese were made for each other.

  6. That same bug is going around here and I've been dodging and washing hands like crazy. I don't want it! Your soup reminds me of egg drop soup. Yummy. Hope you're feeling yet a bit better.
