musical day

Slurpee With A Binge On Top
To the tune of "Surrey With The Fringe On Top"
From "Oklahoma!"

When I take you out, tonight, to eat,
Honey, here's the way it's goin' to be:
You will eat behind a team of snow white horses,
In the sickest gig you ever see!

Chicks and ducks and geese go better with curry
When I take you out for a Slurpee,
When I take you out for a Slurpee with a binge on top!

Cain't Say Know
From "Oklahoma!"

I'm just a girl who cain't say 'no'
I'm in a terrible fix!
I always say 'Come on, let's go' just when I aughta say 'Nix.'
When a person tries to feed a girl
I know she aughta give his face a smack!
But as soon as someone looks at me me
I somehow sorta want to * him back!
I'm just a fool when blood sugar is low
I cain't be prissy an' quaint
I ain't the type that can faint
How can I be what I ain't?
I cain't say 'no!'

Good Advice
(A song about blogging)
To the tune of "Edelweiss"
From "The Sound Of Music"

Good advice, good advice,
Every morning you greet me
Small and bright, sweetness and light,
You look happy to meet me
Oh little blogs, may you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever
Good advice, good advice,
Bless my laptop forever!

16 going on 17
"The Sound Of Music"

You've lost sixteen pounds, going on seventeen pounds,
Baby, it's time to think
Better beware be canny and careful
Baby, you're on the brink
You've lost sixteen pounds, going on seventeen pounds,
Fellows will fall in line
Eager young lads and roues and cads
Will offer you food and wine (Say no!)

Totally unprepared are you to face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared are you
Of things beyond your ken
You need someone older and wiser
Telling you what to do
I've lost seventeen pounds, going on eighteen pounds,
I'll take care of you!

The Lonely FatHead
To the tune of "The Lonely Goatherd"

High on a hill was a lonely Fathead
Layee odl, layee odl layee-oo
Loud was the voice of the lonely Fathead
Layee odl, layee odl-oo

  5. My wife loves the Sound of Music. She'd watch it on a continuous loop for days on end if such a loop existed.

  7. I love The Sound of Music ... of course, now I have to watch it again.

Look how young Shirley Jones looks! I'd forgotten ... she was practically a baby when she landed that lead.

I enjoy musicals. Oh, there is a tune or two from Music Man that would work well with a weight losing theme! LOL

Thanks for the chuckles, and for revisiting some of our favorite classic musicals.

  16. I love that scene in "When Harry Met Sally" when Harry sings "Surrey with the Fringe On Top" to Sally, in the store, right before his ex appears. Harry is adorable, and of course so are you!

Thanks for always bringing a smile to my day!
