Love Bacon?
Marry it, already!
Sun down.... birds too!
Maybe a million of them....
A blown up bus....crime tape and all!
A Nurse tonight called me
(And I quote) "SKINNY!"
I turned around to see who she was talking about.
It was me!
I had to duck and hide.. I was almost crying!
Her kind words just came out of the blue!
I told her I had recently lost some weight
She asked me what I ate to do it...
Well, it was the usual Low Carb Food:
Hamburgers or Cheeseburgers almost every night...
Lots of Salmon... No Chicken (low pufa)
Veggies, Some Salads, Heavy Whipping Cream,
Bacon, Sausage, Eggs by the droves - yokes and all!
She could not wrap her mind around it!
Bless her sweet heart! Ah, Atkins...
Hope your week is awesome!
AND buttah - don't forget the buttah, dear!
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of you in the mirror! Congrats, such a wonderful reward for all your hard work. :)
ReplyDeleteJust started following your blog... you are such an inspiration!!! Loving the low carb thing and I've tried it off and on but I have a hard time sticking with it.
ReplyDeleteHere's to hoping your success will keep me in the low-carb group.
Awesome job!
Anne, Great job. Little Miss Skinny thing you. I think that is wonderful, you have worked so hard to be where you are. You truly are an inspiration. hugs.
ReplyDeleteHow cool! Fantastic compliment. I totally understand your reaction to it. We work so much for it, but it's hard to change the old vision of ourselves.
ReplyDeleteLove that silly photo :)
Yeah, when people ask how I've lost weight, I say, "low carb... you know, lots of meat, cheese, veggies, but mostly MEAT," they seem stunned. You know, deer-in-headlights sort of look.
ReplyDeleteGood photos, Anne. That menu sounds like something you couldn't possibly lose weight on to those who are buying into the low fat high carb plan that doctors push. I am enjoying Wheat Belly. I can't wait to get into it some more today.
ReplyDeleteNice getting compliments! :)
ReplyDeleteNow that kind of compliment would make my month! Congratulations on hearing the description of "skinny" meant for YOU!
ReplyDeleteIs that a great feeling or what? The first time anyone called me that I was on cloud nine for a week. By the way Karen, I recently read Wheat Belly and it made me go off gluten. I feel so much better now.
ReplyDeleteNever forget the buttah! I am still chuckling about the faces of the receptionists at my doctor's office. They couldn't grasp it either.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a skinny, little bit!
Hey skinny! hows it hanging..oh that's right..it's not..cause your skinny! lol. I am glad you heard that..hard work deserves a reward.
ReplyDeleteoh oh no no you are not SKINNY!
ReplyDeleteyoure badassbuffandSTRONG.
Oh that's sweet! And so unexpected! Bet it made you feel great for the rest of the day.
ReplyDeleteA bus blew up? For real?? Oh and I know how you feel about wanting to cry at being called skinny. It's been a while, but I remember the feeling.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, I am happy for you, out of the blue compliments are the best.
ReplyDeleteYour "food porn" photos are awesome. Such great combinations, I bet you stay full for many hours.
I have read lots of books on low carb and low carb paleo... after Wheat Belly, I would suggest The Paleo Solution by Robb Wolf... he explains things very well.. if someone has never fully understood antinutrients, auto-immunity or leaky gut, the book is worth the time on those points alone plus there is lots of other great content.
Oh - I've read all that stuff - I just wonder if the people who write those books and blogs
ReplyDeleteLimit the N6 - or not! I never see that they do. Dirty shame, IMHO!
