What I've done
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I don't have Atonement
on this Day of Atonement
My life is a mess
My apartment is a wreck
My mind is in shambles
Just for now -
I'm making a serious effort to change
Thank you -

out of shambles
comes sweet victory
you can do it
I stand with you
in your wrecked apartment
lean on me
today
and I will lean on you
tomorrow
It's about the effort of atonement, and you are clearly making the effort, and doing the work to make positive changes in your life. We all fall down from time to time, that's part of life so please don't be so hard on yourself.
ReplyDeleteThis is the start of a new year-- It's the time for renewal. So when you wake up in the morning you get to start again fresh with a clean slate.
Hang in there. xoxox jj
Anne, we all fall down and skin our knee and then we get back up, you told me not to be too hard on myself and I am telling you the same. besides none of us are perfect, none of us are asking you to be. tomorrow is a new day, I wish a day of calmness and getting back on track. hugs.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the most important word in all you wrote here was "mercy". Without it, we are all doomed. With it, we all have hope.
ReplyDeleteA new day, a new year... His mercies are new every morning.

It's not the falling down that makes us who we are but it's the getting back up (even if slowly) that shows who we truly are and what we're made of.
ReplyDeleteHaving the place so clean was something I stressed about for many years. Two years ago that was another thing I threw out the window. I am not spending my extra time cleaning any longer. I am enjoying my extra time. A mind in shambles could mean you are tired. Or it might be that you are expecting way too much of yourself. I don't know if you see your accomplishments as we see them, but I can tell you that especially with your job it is wonderful how you stay active with things far removed from the job.
ReplyDeleteClutter can get to you that way...mind clutter, clutter clutter, body clutter...it's all stressful. An antiseptically clean kitchen floor is not the answer, but a little organization in all areas helps you breathe. Anne, you are always such an upbeat person. You deserve a little pity party once in awhile...and poof...then it's gone. Feel better soon.
