bootcamp

I am in the slow and low CrossFit class.... BootCamp!

I am in such "bad shape" that I'm not strong
enough for even the most scaled Work Out.

But that doesn't matter!
I have all the time in the world to get there.
And I am learning the basics at class.
You gotta start where you are at, right?

Lunges. Squats.
Posture. Breathing.
Focus.  Sit ups.
Push-ups from a bar.
Step ups.

And some fancy things.

Bird Dogs. (demo)

Bear Crawls. (demo)

Bridges. (demo)
Planks. Core Work.

It goes so slow.
Like CrossFit for Impaired people.
Like me!

I keep saying this -
Up till now, my "work-out" was a hike
or a good treadmill session. Maybe a bike ride.

Up till then, my "work-out" was walking around WalMart 2 or 3 times
(which is about a mile - stores are bigger in Texas)

And I thought then, at 200++ pounds that I was doing great!

I have really committed to this Summer project thing.
I am walking/jogging on the treadmill every day.
Getting hurt didn't really help my cause -
I still have two black eyes and a bump on my forehead!
But it's only a set-back! Not a stopping.

So onward and downward....
After all, it's not the end of the world!

  3. Thanks SheZug!

I write the post usually in the evening.
Then schedule it for this time.
In case something occurs to me to add
(or take out) later! It almost always does.
Ya wouldn't think I spend much time on the blog -
    but I really do!

  4. Looks to me you are making a lot of progress. What you are doing might be basic for CrossFit, but for most of us it would be advanced. Planks are hard, I know from doing them. So are other exercises you mention. If what you are doing now is basic I can only imagine what you'll do when you start to advance.

You are doing great. Looking great, too. Go Anne! :)

  6. Hahah, crossfit for impaired people...that's exactly how I felt back when I was doing those group workouts with the trainers! But you know what? You're DOING it. Fast, slow...no matter. You are doing it. :)

Love your summer project! Glad your black eyes and bump are gone! Did I tell you I have my first black eye? I will take a picture and email it to you. It is so attractive!

I must write a post about my own summer project...the "Whirlwind of Waterfalls."

    Have a great day!!!

  9. I call them fish flopping exercises. I need to get back into doing them. Running, biking, hiking, canoeing and so is good for big muscles but I think I need to work on some other ones too.
Thanks for stopping by. Take care Anne, God Bless!!
