Went to the Desert - looked up and there it was!
Signs all around -
Watch your step, indeed!
I love old buildings!
Looks like I came to the right town for that.
No Country For Old Nurses
Open year round for your small town entertainment
Do stripes make me look - you know....??
Here's to a lovely New Year for you
and everyone you know and love!
I love the irony of the first pic and the "Big Boys Toy BOOM" hahahah--hahahah. But most of them make me sad. Deserted things are...sad.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years, O Shadow-Striped One.
I love old buildings Anne, the stripes make you look taller and thinner. hugs.
ReplyDeleteSad scenes, but interesting. Old brick facades always have certain charm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us along on your trip. Oh, and stripes make you look dashing :)
Hey, I love that you go sight-seeing on your own. That's sooo cool! (The darned caution sign- that's how I fell. Blah.)
ReplyDeleteAnne, off topic, but I just wanted to thank you and all nurses in your line of work. You all do such a service to those families in need. Thank you.
ReplyDeletegood lord you are so creative interesting adventurous and in prison (the last photo :))
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I loved your blog in 2010 and I know I'll love it this year too.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think the pictures were sad, just old (like me?). Well, except for the Kountry Kraft Mall, which probably was closed by the Spelling Police! *LOL*
Thanks for such a great blog!
Looks like a fun adventure! Now when you find a town called "Dessert" instead, count me in!
ReplyDeleteI didn't think the pictures were sad, either! Constant friends, full of potential, ready to be used again.
ReplyDeleteAnd stripes? Marvelous!
It's helpful to have signs...so that we can better understand what things are for. Yet in time their purpose may change. It is humbling to know we do not understand anything. I could stare at some of those pictures for hours. I get what you mean about old buildings...its like they have a story they want to tell us but we are all to busy to listen.
ReplyDeleteBTW you can wear stripes now...quite flattering.
p.s. I figured out how to get my gravatar on!!!
ReplyDeleteThings are looking up :)
Never heard of Desert, TX. Been to Utopia though! And Cut-N-Shoot.
ReplyDeleteYou make me homesick Anne. One of my favorite things to do back home in Texas was to just get in my pickup and drive to where ever the good Lord took me.
ReplyDeleteI sure do miss those big boy toy boom stands. Don't have them out here in NV, or at least not in the area I live in.
I sure do like that last picture of you. :)
LOL @ Cinner. No country for old nurses? Who are you calling old?
ReplyDeleteYou look great in stripes... but yes, they do make you look kind of scary... that was the question right? :)
ReplyDeleteStripes definitely make you look taller :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your mac was ok after the tea adventure. I'm not so sure I would have handled it all so calmly, way to go. Well I don't think stripes make you look bad at all.
