money in - money out

Breakfast At Tiffany's
Audrey Hepburn got it going on!

Pretty Woman - Julia Roberts

"Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now. "

We all know how to shop.
Or so it seems.
But what if a person wanted to save up some money?
They would have to make more money than they spent.
We know this.

 A*bing!* moment.

It's the same with weight loss.
There needs to be a gap.
Between the amount "in..."
and the amount "out."

It seems so easy.
Why and how can it be so hard?
Where's the resistance coming from?

I don't know.
If we knew that, then we would know everything!
Stubbornness, change, control.....
Just saying it could be a very long list.

For me, all that was an excuse to not try.
Till one day.... I actually started to gave a bleep!

It sucks, and it feels like deprivation.
I told myself that it wasn't worth the effort.
People need to like me - for me!
Accept me for who, and how I am.

Do you honestly expect me to go through life never having (blank) again?
Well, then, you are crazier than you look.

I would have done it myself but everyone is shoving
all this weight loss crap down my throat all the time and.....

And on and on.
This is just the short list!

This guy lost a lot of weight, and it was easy!
I didn't feel a thing!
Actors - Go figure!

Wanting two things that are mutually exclusive,
and diametrically opposed.
And wanting each with all your heart.
Wanting the cake, and the eating of the cake.

I guess it comes back to each person.
How much discomfort, and frustration tolerance,
(there's that phrase again)
and inconvenience they can handle
at this point in life. Maybe call it fear.
Cuz, at the end of the day, that's what it is .

Maybe that point is not unchangeable.
Maybe it can be tweaked just a little.
Maybe?

I didn't make any resolutions this year.
Except to do my best in every situation.
Maybe to listen better - inside.
What ever that means.

Hope your day,
your week, your month
and your new year
is good for you in every way!

  1. What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?
    I don't know, and I don't care!

  2. Whoa! Anne, I swear you ought to do a book on the subject! This was power-packed. I'm learning basic stuff from you that I know I've been over-looking. The analogy applies to every situation anyone might be in. I know it worked for me. :) :)

Well, then, you are crazier than you look." Gave me a chuckle!!!! I think its good when you break things down like this, because folks tend to get overwhelmed when they look at the entire big picture (no pun intended!).

  5. The only way to handle a lot of this is to break it down. I am looking at my new 2011 cahllenge, I have to do that. I love your post Anne. You always teach me something. Life has not been easy for you and you have been to the bottom and back. We are all learning from your lessons. Thank you for sharing.
Now take care and have a great and blessed evening.

  7. I have read that people who struggle with weight also struggle with overspending. Interesting. Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog...you brought a little tear to my eye.

I think your resolution means something big...your best in all situations? Wow. How many times do we give less than our best because we can, because it's good enough, because we're tired and can't be bothered. That's a powerful resolution!! Happy New Year!
