What Meals on Wheels brings for Old People

Scrounged around and found this

Made this for them.... Empty-out-the-fridge salad!
I was happy with my protein shake

Stopped at the store and got this
For broth

Made this when I got home...
Can you tell which is Grass-Fed Beef and which is Pink Slime?

Reading material for the Local Octogenarian Set
Get 'em while they're hot....
Or at least warm, eh?

Kidding, of course!
Hope you are having a great weekend!

  2. There is no Meals On Wheels in this little town but the senior center delivers hot lunches to many house bound seniors each day.
Some day that will be me!

Your broth is going to come in handy for future meals. I keep some broth in the freezer and when I feel the urge to make soup I have the broth ready.

Hope your weekend is nurturing for you as you do so much for your patients.

  5. Hmmm! Broth. Reminds me it's time we had a whole roast chicken so I can make stock with the remains. Soup time is just around the corner.

Love that you made a delicious salad for your patient.

Enjoy your weekend you earn it.

    Blessings

  6. How kind of you to do that meal for them!

I remember in the couple of years before my Mom died, she refused the "food" the Meals on Wheels offered. She still wanted her salads, even though her teeth didn't work so well. So she had us pulse all the ingredients once or twice in the blender, to sort of help her "chew" it. And she was happy as a clam at high tide that she could still have her salads. :-)

  7. I just want to thank you for posting about Wheat Belly and the Paleo way of life, Anne! It has caused a really positive change in my body and life. I'm glad you are here, doin' what you do. Thank you for the inspiration to change, and go against the norm. :) You are pretty darn awesome!
