My Fit Day told me that I eat alot of fats...
Lots and lots of fats!
This is from late June, when I first started keeping track:
1155 avg calories a day
63 fat grams
9 carb grams
93 protein grams avg per day.
Before FitDay, I pretty much ate anything I
wanted, as long as it was not a carb.
Now, with CrossFit, I am a little more
aware of what I eat.
The large amounts of fat didn't hurt my bloodwork any.
And I love to be in ketosis!
But it might not have helped my
plateau... in the weight -loss department.
So... along comes my trainer, who wonders what would
happen if I ate less fat... and more carbs....?
Now the daily averages are more like this:
1,026 calories
48 fat grams
23 carbs
124 protein grams a day
I might need 100 to 130 grams of protein a day.
The 3 pounds of muscle I gained was no-doubt helped
by the huge amounts of protein.
But - the extra protein (unused)
is stored as.... (you know) fat
via gluconeogenisis....
Which calls forth insulin!!
Nursing School 101 stuff here.
So there's my 1 pound of fat gain!

Can't really tell anything..... yet....
2 weeks ago - and now pics -
Maybe a little less goofy.
But that fluctuates daily....
Hairs a mess... that, too!
So ya just never know.
I have also started standing up for most of the day
whilst at work! Mainly because there aren't
usually any chairs. Where did they go?
Chair thieves? Charity?
Chair-B-Gone?
While I am standing (up to 12 hours)
I am doing my stretches....
Calf-Raises. Balance Feet.
Butt Work. Core Contractions.
It keeps me going, at any rate!
Hope your day is wonderful!
Anne I think your two pictures look fabulous. All your info is interesting. where the heck are the chairs...you must be in great shape. have a great day.
ReplyDeleteCheesecake, sugar free, that's the ticket
ReplyDeleteInteresting watching you mature in your program to be healthy. I require more protein than you show here. Standing up most of the day sounds hard on the feet and back, but I am not in as good shape you are.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I've been more aware of my own numbers since I won a little gadget to track my fitness. Been tracking my food at the same time.
ReplyDeleteYou have the best.hair.ever!
ReplyDeleteI am going to read about gluconeogenisis.
Leave it to you to make the most of standing up! Good example, and I need to follow you. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so positive, I need a dose of that!!!

My plan differs from you in that I am allowed up to 100 grams of carbs per day but only 30 grams of fat per day. 100 grams doesn't seem so low but it is compared to the ADA and the food pyramid. This seems to work for me but I can understand the super low carb plan. I once did Atkins with some success but not enough in the long run to get me down to where I am now.
ReplyDeleteI love how you never stop learning and teaching us!
ReplyDeleteWhy, thanks Enz!
ReplyDeleteTruth is, we are all learning together!
Thanks, everyone - for your kind words!
Gluconeogenesis! AHHHHHHHHH! Physiology flash back. NOOOO! Great job on the extra core work! Excellent idea.
