Small towns that were once in the middle of nowhere,
are now in the middle of urban sprawl....
I guess maybe they DID need a new bridge, after all!
McKinney is the new epicenter ...for construction
For decades, it has been rumoured that Disney Inc
bought land out here to build a DisneyPlace.
Or maybe the Universe is just expanding!
The "big city" effect brings its own set of problems and solutions..
Urbanization also brings QuikTrip!
The bun went to the local ducklings...
They aren't unionized down here,
so it's every quack-quack for herself.
Peanuts and Liquids
Yikes - I would want to move from this street!
Effective against germs AND fashionable, as well!
Saw a Nurse I haven't seen in a year...
She barely recognized me. Almost walked right past me!
I wasn't even wearing the mask at the time!
..........................................................................
Monster w/protein
QT jalapeno hot dog sans bun
Peanut snack pack x2 .... way too much sodium today!
Donkey Kick Lite energy drink
Someone thought it said "Monkey Kick"
and they were like "Eww.... what is that?"
2 HB eggs sans shells
Atkins bars x2 - it's so hot, the package glue melted!
Coffee, water, vitamins by the score....
.............................................................................
7500 steps today - I worked again all day
now that the detox project is just a distant memory....
It didn't even cause a headache. Yay!
As they say "Hope for the best, but plan for the worst..."
Why would anyone want to drink Bailey's Irish Cream
with all those yummy - I mean empty carbs?
...............................................................................
I loved the combination of RedLine and Vodka. (Hardcore, eh?)
What's not to love about that?
I can see why people like it - and why it's a problem!
They drink Red Bull and vodka in the bars here.
Alcohol never had much of an appeal to me -
I've always thought it's just not worth the calories...
I would drink to help me sleep. But it didn't help, so logically...
Another pseudo- treat moves to the "Not Working For Me"
side of the balance sheets. I've discovered most of my little
tricks and "treats" no longer work for me. Sweets, excess, etc.
They don't deliver the goods like they promised they would.
How could they? Maybe for a while, it seems like they do.
But in the end, it's me asking something to be what it is not capable of being.
Something, someone... what a mess it is, trying to satisfy the needs of the body.
When it is really the needs of the mind.
I know what does work for me, and all the lies and distractions
can't cover it up or substitute for it.
I know what works, when I feel un-conflicted about the decision.
And it isn't on my mind every waking moment.
I hope with all my heart that your week is stellar!
When it's on your mind 24/7
ReplyDeleteAnd you are reminded of something every where you look -
You might not be totally "over" it.
Even if you want to be, or say that you are!
I believe they call that obsessing :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope your week is stellar, as well.
How did you feel when the nurse didn't recognize you?
ReplyDeleteI remember years ago when I quit smoking, I talked about it all the time for the first six months and though I very seldom thing about it now I wouldn't trust myself to ever smoke the "just one" as I'm not sure one ever gets over an addicton as that. I wonder sometimes how drug addicts beat their habits and if it is harder than quitting smoking.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week sweetie......:-) Hugs
A bunless dog? I admire your dedication! When I lived in Dallas, there was a Tex Mex place off of McKinney Ave that I think started with a P...can't quite remember the name apparently, but it was Yummy!
ReplyDeleteNice mask. I am also a big fan of the stethoscope. Tick tick tick! Of course the other nurse didn't know you...you have changed!
ReplyDeleteGlad the detox project went well.
Shelling the eggs? What a novel concept.
What a kick it must have been to have the nurse not recognized the new smaller you :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for getting over it-- Just keep moving forward is what I always say-- Baby steps are okay, as long as they are forward towards the most healthy direction.
And Vodka and Red Bull- Ugh. That is not the least bit appealing.

All you needed was a cowboy hat in the picture with the masks...and we could have called you Urbane Cowgirl.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, I did a diet called "the drinking man's diet." It was one of the first low carb diets, and you could have all the hard liquor you wanted, as long as you used club soda or other non-sugar mixer. Because supposedly there were no carbs in alcohol. Well, I gained weight on this diet. It worked fine until I would get drunk and then eat bags of potato chips and Cheetos. Kind of defeated the purpose, I guess.
