pre - move

Worked in Mesquite this week-
That means one thing:

BBQ at the end of the work week!

Yummy yummy ribs!
No sauce for me.
I even wonder if they use sugar in the spice rub.
I would just as soon make my own, at home.
No CAFO beef, no cheapo oils, and all that!
I hardly ever eat out any more.

This weekend will be spent packing and moving!
There is so much to do...all of it fun fun fun!
The biggest fun project will be stocking the pantry,
And organizing the kitchen with all my gizmos and gadgets!

Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?

The new house will be a big challenge and big commitment.
Every time I think about it, I am taken aback a little.
But in a good way!
So excited - that I can't sleep the night through!

Soon, I won't have to get up at 4 am to cook and prep
my meals for the day.... and get my walk in.
Many days, I skip the walk... well... I mean
I don't have time to walk... I don't actually "skip" per se!
But my new schedule will allow for many great changes!
Working 12 hours + driving 1 hour each way +
Plus this plus that.... lol

Glad I have no-muss hair, or I might have been done for!

  1. LOL - the lady at the BBQ place asked if I wanted any bread or potatoes with my ribs and brisket. I told her no.
She replied - "That diet sounds unhealthy, lady! You'll gain weight for sure on that!"
I just winked and said (to myself) WHAT EVAH!

  2. Good luck with the move. I've done that about 45 times in 46 years and it's still not a fun thing to do. :)

  4. The move sounds extra-exciting.

People always seem to give me "the look" when I just load my plate up with meat. Hey, it's non-processed real food that our body loves as fuel! It also makes us wonderfully thin. What could be wrong with that???

  5. So, you not only have your own room, but your own kitchen?? I thought you'd be in a house and be having to deal with eating "their" food. This sounds like a great plan, though, where you are right there to fix your own healthy stuff. Just gets better an' better. So glad for you. :-)

    1. I will be living in a Group Home as the care manager thing person...
I don't think I have an official title - other than Nurse!
The kitchen is getting a makeover.... and I will be shopping, and cooking for others!
I just can't wait..... but I guess I must.... for a few more weeks, at least!
