The Colony. 

That’s a town. 

In the DFW metroplex. 

In about 1972, Fox & Jacobs

Bought up all this land. 

They build their own city. 

They had their own water, electricity,

And government. 

1972. Men with beards,

Memorex reel-to-reel tape decks. 

Dark little houses, Brady Bunch kitchens- 

Fox & Jacobs was the cat’s meow. 

All the houses looked a lot alike.

Same tile, same doors. Same floor plans. 

My sister had a house like that

But in a different (nearby) town. 

Well now it’s getting super built up. 

Mega shopping and mid rises 

Still lots of undeveloped land. 

So there might be some cows 

Or wheat or whatever 

Next to your place. 

I stayed with a friend -

She has one of those fancy beds. 

Like $5000 bed. 

So I slept like a dead dog

And didn’t even wake up. 

We Nurses look out for each other.

No bun. 

In-N-Out Flying Dutchman. 

With grilled onions. 

And Covefe.
