It occurred to me, that I am 50 (next week.)
And some of the young ones might not know
that these are actually parodies of songs.
(And not just gratuitous pictures of donuts!)
So I added YouTube links!
JUNK - huh!
Good god - y'all!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing !!
I'll say it again!
American (Dieting) Woman
I don't need your vending machines
I don't need your get-oh scenes
Starchy delights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
I Will (Do More Than) Survive
At first I was afraid - I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you ON my sides
But then I spent so many nights just thinkin'
How I did me wrong... and I grew strong
And I learned how to get along!
Nope - have not BEAN to Don Jaun's LATELY
thank-you-very-much
But I could use some harmony
Rodeo City Music Hall
Braum's Lull-A-Buy
..................................
And to all, a Good Buy
Brahms Lullaby
Jewel
This also just added:
By the way - this is the worst post I have ever written.
Threw up a little (twice) just thinking about it all.
[worst = true]
Love 'em! These posts of your always put a big smile on my face. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're up early

Good night from your
night owl friend
Okay, now I want a glazed Krispy Kreme ...
ReplyDeleteSo, naturally, I'll have a small bowl of oatmeal instead.
Dieting is so much fun some mornings! LOL
I can remember buying a box with a dozen donuts... eating them all myself and hiding the "evidence", the box. So I shocked myself when I saw that pic of donuts, and my first instinct was honestly ewww! The only one that looked good was the maple bar.
ReplyDeleteHuh... I wonder when that change in me happened?!
Braum's Lull-A-Buy...LOL!

ReplyDeleteMmm yeah that maple bar! and the chocolate thingees....I once bought a box of donuts too, after getting fired last winter! They werent even *decent* bakery donuts, they were the boxed kind with powdered sugar/cinnamon sugar and I ate em all, to the point of illness! BLAH!!!! No donuts for me anymore..I LOL'd at "At first I was afraid - I was petrified
ReplyDeleteKept thinking I could never live without you ON my sides" :-)
I'm pretty close behind you in age, and I LOVED those song references! And, sadly, a lot of the younger crowd knows some of them too - because they've (already?!) been re-made, covered (as they say) by other artists. Ok, I feel old suddenly ... lol
ReplyDeleteI love the "BEAN" billboard. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteHi - thanks for commenting about my anonymice rant. Maybe I was a little harsh, but have been watching some escalating meanness over at a friend's blog and want them to shut up!
ReplyDeleteClever post. I'm trying to gear up for trying low carb (have done so before with great results), so I'll be back to pick your brain via the blog. And I'm sorry to say the donuts looked great to me. siiiiiiigh.
Hi there- It's all good!
ReplyDeleteI am currently the target of someone's rants...
So I know what it's like!
It hurts beyond words and it feels like
someone is sucking the life right out of you.
Maybe I'm too sensitive - a lesson for both sides to learn!
Nah, not a bad post at all. I am happy to find your blog. I'm a low-carber as a way of life, for about ten years now.
ReplyDeleteHmm, 50, eh. You are just a kid!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
Still so very young Anne, these song title and words brought a smile to my face....:-) Hugs
