09 June 2011

in the gloaming

Went to CrossFit tonight.
Stood on the tread mill
Belt went one way....
I went the other way.....

Clipped my chin.
Caught myself with my already injured arm.
Pulled something out of place in my arm ...again....

Had to sit out - my heart was racing so
I was almost sick -  No - I was sick!

Got home - put on the ice pack...
Took Advil. Drank some protein
before I went to bed. Early.

Feel like the fattest, oldest, clumsiest person in the class.
No one else falls when they are just standing there.
Just me. Boom!
No one even saw me fall. *plop*

Humiliating. Embarrassing. Not quite disgusted with myself -
cuz that's not how I roll.... but I do understand how that happens,
when it does. I'm not used to being last. I know someone has to be last.
But it was never me.

It's easy to believe I might be in way over my head.
I know I'm not. I know it's not too late.
I know it only gets better. I know this.

I just didn't know I had let myself go (physically)
to the point where something so small (seemingly)
could set me back so far!  (ouch!)

Off to nurse the pain - again....
Florence Nightingale called this
"Adding insult to injury." Twice now.

Hope your night is great!
I'm fine - and I'll be fine... really...
I guess every "comeback" must have
a few "setbacks" in there, somewhere!
