Oh, the restaurant fare is frightful,
But the home- cooked is so delightful,
And since I love you so,
Cook it slow, cook it slow, cook it slow!
When I finally read the book,
How I hate all those folks talking smack,
But if you'll only take a look
You can read up on all of the facts!
Oh the fat is slowly melting,
And my britches, they need a-belting,
And since I love you soooo
Cook it slow, cook it slow, cook it slow!

Sung to the tune of
Sung to the tune of
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Stay warm and cozy!
once again you've got me a singin'
ReplyDeletethis time my husband
caught a whiff of it
an' I had to sing it again for him
I guess one way or another
I be singin Christmas carols this year
thanks to you!
Guess what "oldies" song I heard on the radio this morning, and has been stuck in my head today?
ReplyDeleteWith apologies to Peaches and Herb:
Slow cookin', and it feels so good
Slow coonkin', cuz I'm misunderstood
There's no perfect fit
And sugar simply ain't it
We're just all so excited
'Cuz we're blog united, hey, hey
:) I'm sure Santa is listening to you. :) :)
ReplyDeleteI just looked at your pictures alongside. I think you're doing a great job for yourself!
Oh, I LOVE Dana Carpenter cookbooks! I have three of hers, and one of them is for the crockpot.
ReplyDeleteSo now I am hearing Let It Snow in my head, LOL!
Loretta
=^..^=
You're as clever as ever.
ReplyDeleteHey, I got an email that my Wicked tickets have printed and are being mailed. So excited.

ReplyDeleteAnd my britches, they need a-belting!! perfect!
I didn't get a chance to comment on your last blog post ("classroom"), but I wanted to tell you now that I felt like it was *speaking to me*, and I really needed the reminder--not so much in terms of the eating/food. In terms of all those other illusions.
ReplyDeleteYou see, I got caught up in a bit of someone else's drama yesterday, and started to step in to *help fix it*. HA! Pulled back just in time (a dear friend pulled me back from that ledge, a woman whom I've never even met). :)
Point is: even when we seem to eff up, we never know whose life we are touching. We are all in this together.
Thank you.
Robin
The best part of your song is "since I love you so" because I read it that you love yourself. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteDitto TechnoBabe! I appreciate you pointing that out.
ReplyDeleteThat is most Significant and True.
♫♪♫♬♪♫ And since I love you soooo ♫♪♫♬♪♫
Maybe we practice loving ourselves
ReplyDeleteby first being open to the love that
we have and share with others!
Talent!
ReplyDeleteHo Ho Ho!
