cook it slow

Oh, the restaurant fare is frightful,
But the home- cooked is so delightful,
And since I love you so,
Cook it slow, cook it slow, cook it slow!

When I finally read the book,
How I hate all those folks talking smack,
But if you'll only take a look
You can read up on all of the facts!

Oh the fat is slowly melting,
And my britches, they need a-belting,
And since I love you soooo
Cook it slow, cook it slow, cook it slow!

Sung to the tune of
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Stay warm and cozy!

  2. Guess what "oldies" song I heard on the radio this morning, and has been stuck in my head today?

With apologies to Peaches and Herb:

Slow cookin', and it feels so good
    Slow coonkin', cuz I'm misunderstood

    There's no perfect fit
    And sugar simply ain't it
    We're just all so excited
'Cuz we're blog united, hey, hey

  4. Oh, I LOVE Dana Carpenter cookbooks! I have three of hers, and one of them is for the crockpot.

So now I am hearing Let It Snow in my head, LOL!

  7. I didn't get a chance to comment on your last blog post ("classroom"), but I wanted to tell you now that I felt like it was *speaking to me*, and I really needed the reminder--not so much in terms of the eating/food. In terms of all those other illusions.

You see, I got caught up in a bit of someone else's drama yesterday, and started to step in to *help fix it*. HA! Pulled back just in time (a dear friend pulled me back from that ledge, a woman whom I've never even met). :)

Point is: even when we seem to eff up, we never know whose life we are touching. We are all in this together.

    Thank you.

  8. The best part of your song is "since I love you so" because I read it that you love yourself. Awesome.

  9. Ditto TechnoBabe! I appreciate you pointing that out.

That is most Significant and True.

  10. Maybe we practice loving ourselves
by first being open to the love that
we have and share with others!
