nature walk in a nursing home

virtual insanity

a beautiful scene? OR a public service announcement?

The perfect diet metaphor. You think it's one thing, but you step back, gain a new perspective, and you discover that it is something completely different!

Virtual Anime?

Virtual Insanity
Lyrics by Jamiroquai
It's a wonder man can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doing for us...

  1. You are definitely one who thinks outside of the box. I like that. =)

  2. Yeah, I thought dieting was something I couldn't do and anyway, it was all about denial. I thought exercise would hurt and I would hate it.

Step back and - hey, I eat well and enjoy it and exercise is fun, fun, fun! Who'd have thunk it?

  6. Hi Anne, This is another perfect example why I enjoy your blog so much! You surprise me every time! And I've seen those "landscape" or the "wall of books" in nursing homes and wonder if they think they're fooling any of the seniors :-)

And thanks for your recent comment about being a Hospice Volunteer. I take my hat off to you working in a Hospice. You are a true angel!!!

I've spent a LOT of time in the past year losing loved ones of all ages and could NEVER have gotten through it without the peace of mind all the Hospice workers gave us. When you spend 12 hours days by a loved ones bedside, it's comforting for both the patient and their family to know the caring Hospice staff is there. A MILLION THANKS TO YOU AND ALL OF YOUR CO-WORKERS. YOU ARE A GREAT GIFT!!! xoxoxoxox

  7. Those pictures are always so beautiful and realistic ... until you actually try to walk inside of them. Ouch! Everyone else seems to get a laugh out of it though. Always looking for the silver lining.

  8. I thought it was about eating right & moving but really it was about thinking right first ... which made the rest easier.

  9. Yup. It's about training our minds to see 'healthy' different, too.

Wow, Anne, I admire your profession. It isn't an easy one. Yeah, thanks for doing that.
