what makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well

"Ce qui embellit le désert, (dit le petit prince,)
c'est qu'il cache un puits quelque part..."

"On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur.
L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux."
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;
what is essential is invisible to the eye.

The prince asks the narrator to draw a sheep. Not knowing how to
draw a sheep, the narrator shows the prince a picture that he had
previously drawn; a boa with an elephant in its stomach.

"No! No!", exclaims the prince. "I don't want a boa constrictor from the inside or outside. I want a sheep!..." He tries a few sheep drawings, which the prince rejects. Finally he draws a box, which he explains has the sheep inside. The prince, who can see the sheep inside the box just as well as he can see the elephant in the boa, says "That's perfect."

note to self:
Others have said the best thing to do with a desert is to leave!

picking up guys

I knew that would get your attention!

This is Roy, my neighbor. This is how I work out.

I had to do this like 5 or 6 times to get the shot.
The camera operator is another neighbor
who had never worked a "gizmo" before.
So I cut her a little slack :D

I can lift alot, alot more.
My all time record was 750 lbs leg press.
This guy is a lightweight.

This other guy was over 6 feet tall, 250 lbs.
A few years ago, I did squats with him.

my stats: 160, down from 205.
*sigh*

You'll be singing this all day. And laughing about it!

brick by bric-a-brac

This is James May.
This is his full-sized Lego house.
A house that nobody wants.

Here is a link to the news story:

Here's an updated link to the Nightmare,
as they are now calling it.

3.3 million Lego Bricks.
Running water, windows,
Lego bed, Lego slippers and
and a Lego cat.

Thousands of people turned out to help.

Here's a link to that story:

Now what?
BBC link: The house is coming down - today!
unless they find a buyer.

Who builds a house from toys?
'Ceptin' this guy.

height and weight

Here is a link a web site that has pictures
of people at almost every height, and weight.

It reads like a graph.
A graph of photos.

Found it while cleaning out my files.
Thought you might like to know.
It's too good to throw away, unknown.
*click*

ps
It's not for comparing yourself to others.
It's just a general reference.
Curiosity. You know, that kind of stuff.

"less than 3" soundtracks*

Here are some relaxing-type soundtracks.
I put them in mp3 format
and/or video
so your machine won't have to buffer
...or suffer

MusicPlaylistRingtones
Create a playlist at MixPod.com

In my blog archives, just so ya know,
all the posts that are "just music"
are marked with an asterisk at the end*
So you can listen anytime -
maybe some night when you can't sleep.

<3
(less than 3)
chick-flick sound-track stuff, good for relaxing

I listen to this playlist almost every night.
Especially Hilary Hahn, violinist, on The Village Soundtrack.

Sharing is caring, as they say...

I never thought people would sit and listen to hours
and hours of compilations while checking their blog roll
before they moved on to the next one.

It was always just a handy way to store the codes/songs.
Save you some time getting them. If you want them.

Double click on the device - takes you right to it's homepage.
but you know this...

a little break

I am long overdue for a little vacation...
Which I am taking. or not!

I will be back to blogging in a couple of weeks. or not!

I am such a "baby" in the real world.
I've never even made my own reservations.

It's time for a correction! or not
ps: it was!

autobiography in 5 short chapters

I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost...I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
but, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in... it's a habit.
My eyes are open
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

IV
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

V
I walk down another street.

Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
by Portia Nelson
"There's a Hole In My Sidewalk: The Romance of Self-Discovery"

When I was younger, and much less *seasoned*
I made some major life decision by tossing a coin.
Seemed like a good idea at the time!
It rolled, and landed, leaning up against something.
The coin actually landed on it's side.
Now what?
There is always another way to look at things.

Us Two - from Pooh Bear

~ By AA Milne~

"Wherever I am, there's always Pooh;
there's always Pooh and me.
Whatever I do, he wants to do,
"where are you going today?" says Pooh...
"Well, that's very odd 'cos I was too."

"Let's go together," says Pooh, says he. "Let's go together", says Pooh.
"What's twice eleven?" I said to Pooh, "Twice what?" said Pooh to Me.
"I think it ought to be twenty two", "Just what I think myself," said Pooh.
"It wasn't an easy sum to do, But that's what it is," said Pooh, said he.
"That's what it is," said Pooh.

"Let's look for the dragons," I said to Pooh. "Yes, let's," said Pooh to Me.
We crossed the river and found a few... "Yes those are dragons all right," said Pooh.
"As soon as I saw their beaks I knew. That's what they are," said Pooh, said he.
"That's what they are," said Pooh.

"Let's frighten the dragons," I said to Pooh. "That's right," said Pooh to Me.
"I'm not afraid," I said to Pooh, And held his paw and shouted
"Shoo! Silly old dragons!" and off they flew.
"I wasn't afraid," said Pooh, said he, "I'm never afraid with you."

So wherever I am, there's always Pooh; there's always Pooh and me.
"What would I do?" I said to Pooh, "If it wasn't for you," and Pooh said...
"True, It isn't much fun for One, but Two can stick together," says Pooh, says he.
"That's how it is," says Pooh.
